Scanning Instructions:
Choose the "Right" Photo: Please make sure to choose an appropriate photo. Photos that are blurry or dirty may not look good no matter how good your photo editing software is. To avoid having text over the subject, you may want to choose a photo that has a lot of background area. Just make sure the subject is clear.
Clean your Scanner: Your scanner must be clean and dust-free before you scan your photo. You should use some alcohol on a lint-free cloth to clean the glass. Refrain from spraying liquid directly on the glass. This could cause permanent damage to your machine.
Resolution: 1. Place your photo in the scanner, making sure to lay it flat against the edge of the bed of the scanner. This should prevent a crooked scan. 2. Preview your photo first to determine the actual scanning area. Use the Selection Tool to create a box around the edge of your photograph. This will only scan, just the photo and not the entire bed of the scanner. Scanning the entire bed will result in a poor quality photo. 3. You are now ready to scan your image. Make sure NOT to crop or retouch your photograph in any way. Our designer will do all the necessary cropping, coloring and/or retouching that may be needed. If you have any special requests, please make sure to type them in, in the "Special Instructions" box when you place your order. 4. When saving this scanned image, make sure you take note of where (on your hard drive) you saved it. You will need this information when you E-mail us your photo.
***If you are not sure of how to scan your image, please mail it to us instead. There is a one-time $5.00 fee whether you scan your photo or we do it.
